The Literary and Philosophical Society of Newcastle upon Tyne has the largest independent library outside of London, housing over 150, 000 books which includes a wide selection of current fiction and non-fiction together with historical collections covering every field of interest.   Its music library is without equal in the North of England, and has over 8,000 CDs and 10,000 LPS.   In addition the Society hosts a wide range of events including book launches, concerts, lectures, readings, and workshops.  To find out more visit the Society’s website.
