Tennyson and “M”

The last book to be added to our collection this year is likely to be Tennyson: to strive, to seek, to find by John Batchelor, Emeritus Professor of English Literature, Newcastle University. Professor Batchelor is a member of the Lit & Phil,  and found our resources on Tennyson extremely helpful when undertaking his research.

There is to be a big feature in the Journal on the new biography tomorrow, which will bring out some of Tennyson’s  family connections with Newcastle and the North East.

James Bond fans of course will  know that the book’s subtitle is quoted in full by Judi Dench as M in Skyfall, the latest Bond movie!! And thanks to Professor Batchelor for presenting a copy of Tennyson to the library.
