Thursdays are always busy here and today is no exception. The Newcastle Philosophy Society (no relation) is meeting downstairs during the day, and this evening Lloyd Langley, the House and Collections Manager at Wallington will be giving a talk (to a full house) on Charles and Molly Trevelyan. This talk is the second in a series of four which tie in with November Club’s forthcoming production Teacups, Zebras and Dancing Kaisers. After the talk there will be a jazz concert, and sandwiched between the two, the Recorded Music Society will be having its weekly meeting ( this week in the Silence Room).
One of the reasons why Thursdays are busy is that our volunteer bookbinding group meet from 1pm-4pm and many of them meet up in advance in the library for a coffee, sandwich and a chat. Today board member Malcolm Gregor is manning the hatch, to be relieved in the early afternoon by his son. And of course the new drinks machine has already been put through its paces in the last few days and seems to be a hit with most people!
