Moving Bookcases and Winter Phantoms

Visitors to the library will have noticed that the Children’s section has not been where it should have been  for quite some time. The reason is that over the years the poor shelves have suffered greatly from being moved for various events such as concerts, plays and readings. We decided we must either replace the shelves or adapt them so that they can be easily and safely moved as and when required. So, thanks to the efforts of our caretakers, and Board member Chris, the shelves are being adorned with casters, as well as strengthened. The library staff have very patiently moved several hundred books to and fro, and hopefully within a short space of time the Children’s area will be back to normal…..

Yes, we know it is still August and winter seems far away, but we’ve just had the good news that Winter Phantoms at the Phil will take place on 4th January, with regulars Sean O’Brien and Gail-Nina Anderson, as well as special guest Val McDermid.  It’s never too early to reserve a place!
